-Grace: African American, Female, about 23 years old, pessimistic but also level headed, quiet, intelligent, self pity, well-versed in philosophy and self educated. Father died in front of her mother when a police officer mistook Grace’s Father for a gang member. He accused him of having a weapon, he was shot and killed. Grace’s mother developed a drinking problem shortly after that. Grace began to live with her aunt and her mother disappeared. Grace and her aunt did not have a good relationship. They would fight constantly. That all escalated gradually over time until the day when Grace gets fired for stealing. Grace and her aunt get into a physical confrontation beyond what either of them ever thought was possible. Grace left her home that day, both bloody and bruised. Grace feels like the worst possible thing will always happen, she believes life is painful and doesn’t care if she lives or dies. She believes in no religion or spirituality and thinks life is ultimately pointless.
-Omar: Hispanic, male, 24, short black hair, physically fit, tattoos never met his father and he was the man of the house for his mom and his sister until his mom passed away from cancer after high school. His sister is in college now but Omar still visits his grandma from time to time, despite her not approving of his lifestyle. GRACE for her honesty, intellect and bravery. OMAR is extremely loyal, gentle, opinionated, independent thinker, but feels hopeless.
-Vic: Caucasian, female, 24 years old, lives in suburbs. Her mom and dad got a divorce and she stayed with her mom while her sister went to live with their dad. In school, Vic was a class clown, always acting out and getting in trouble. Her mother would eat her and call her unthinkable names. She developed a drug addiction when she started stealing her mothers pills. Once her mother found out that Vic was stealing pills when she saved Vic’s life from an OD. After that Vic went to rehab at the age of 16. Vic returns from rehab but quickly falls back into an addictive mindset and begins to seek out hard core drugs from people she meets in school. Her and her mother get into a huge fight over this that ends with Vic being kicked out of the home. She likes to push people to their edge. She often drowns out her feelings with drugs and adrenaline.
-The Alchemist: African American, male, 33, formerly known as Chris. He is cultured, articulate, passionate with a powerful voice. He has the ability to convince himself and others to believe almost anything with a mix of charm, charisma, bravado, hyperbole, marketing, appeasement and persistence. His parents were very Christian evangelist.His father died and he grew to hate his mother and the church. He went to med school for a year and dropped out to become a writer. He lived an immensely interesting life and met many different kinds of people. The first draft of his first book was published and became a bestseller. Since then he follows his wife’s orders and throws believing she and she alone know what is best for him. When he began to gain a following people saw him as a prophet, which made him feel uncomfortable, but with some encouragement from his wife and all the gifts he could ever ask for, he soon gave into his greed.
The party is to celebrate and welcome new members to the cult, thanks to their decision to come into the public eye and be introduced to the mainstream media. The Master is writing a new book and in it he explains how his “religion” is to end all religions. He only believes in the self. The Master has been buying up property(pawn shop) all around town and expanding his reach. His beliefs have been getting more and more radical as he gets older. He started with meditation, moving into rituals and then incorporating drugs, sex and now DEATH into the rituals. He is about to take his first steps into total radicalization, wanting total world domination and to destroy all religions for the good of humanity.
He thinks rituals with, sex and chemicals can change your mind state and you can find your own true will. He does not tolerate any questioning of his views and has violent outbursts. He wants Grace to join so that he can impregnate her and they will give birth to a Moon child.
He is a heavy drinker but his wife keeps him from going off the rails. But now he wants to delve deeper into dark magic and Sam thinks they should do a human sacrifice by killing people that believe in god. The master starts believing that turning against society is the only thing that can free you and that we all need to break cycles, in order to invoke our ascension from the Karmic wheel of rebirth.
-Tris (Alchemist’s Wife): Caucasian, Female, 32, red hair, quite, strategic, dressed in purple. met Chris aka The Master in med school and is responsible for pushing him to follow his love of writing and poetry. She became a nurse, they married and got a house together after knowing each other for a month. After his first time reading his poetry to her she could see how special he was, so she made it her life’s mission to make the world see him as she does. She is a writer, but also a mystic, and ceremonial magician. She is also responsible for forming his beliefs into a cult of followers. Since then, she has become obsessed with her own power that comes with being a cult leader’s wife. SHE HATES VICTOR AND GRACE. Sam wants to take her quest for power to the next level and she thinks by killing someone she will become endowed with some kind of powerful evil spirit. She seeks to become the most powerful witch who’s ever lived.
