This is a mid-level role that will manage the day-to-day photo, audio and video operations with the aim of building and maintaining world-class multimedia content for our brands, including NME, Guitar.com, MusicTech and Uncut.
The Multimedia Producer will be responsible for: scheduling photo and video content, commissioning contributors, booking venues and ensuring logistical requirements are met, managing a budget, checking licensing and rights, distributing content at scale, and enforcing brand guidelines.
The post will work closely in collaboration with commissioning editors, the art team and the Social Media Specialist to ensure the smooth delivery of high-quality multimedia content. Identifying content opportunities and negotiating with other editorial members of staff will also be a big part of this role.
Thorough knowledge of contemporary music and pop culture trends will be crucial, while a deep understanding of online video content, including deriving insights from analytics, is expected.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate multimedia output with the aim of creating best-in-class content in line with brand guidelines
- Assist in developing and implementing on-going photo, video, and audio content plans and calendars across their territory (inclusive of tentpole territory events eg. Glastonbury and the Grammys), including distribution and promotion.
- Alongside the Multimedia Editor, initiate, ideate and execute new multimedia content initiatives across all brands
- Collaborate with the product team on workflows to ensure the seamless production of multimedia content
- Manage logistical, creative, and administrative tasks for multimedia projects, including issuing documentation, playlisting for NME Radio, coordinating pre- and post-production for video/photo, ensuring health and safety standards are met, assisting in processing payments, and so on
- Ensure all copyright and licensing policies are followed and agreements in place
- Ensure adherence to broadcasting codes where applicable
- Onboard and commission contributing videographers/photographers and other editorial freelancers
- Identify new technologies to aid in the production and/or performance of multimedia content
- Report budgets and performance to the Multimedia Editor
- Support other Multimedia Producers as and when required
- Any other duties as the business may reasonably require
Requirements
- Proven track record in a multimedia or creative production role at a brand or publisher
- Disciplined, process-driven, meticulous and organised
- Ability to collaborate with remote teams
- Familiarity with processes related to: copyright, licensing, syncing, and so on
- Thorough knowledge of contemporary music and pop culture trends
- Thorough knowledge of online video analytics and best practices
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong negotiation skills
