Job Description
A paid non-union short film titled Why Gamble on Love? is casting for two principal roles. The story follows Jayce, an Asian woman pressured to marry, who enters a high-end matchmaking agency and begins to unravel what’s really being sold beneath the polished surface. This project is seeking actors who can deliver layered, emotionally precise performances with strong comedic timing and subtle shifts in tone. Filming and rehearsals will take place in the Los Angeles area.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform in scripted scenes for a character-driven short film.

• Deliver nuanced emotional beats, comedic timing, and natural dialogue work.

• Take direction and collaborate with the creative team during rehearsals and production.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in the Los Angeles area.

• Casting the following roles:

  • Jayce (Late 20s): Asian female. Sharp, observant, quietly skeptical; needs strong comedic timing, emotional range, and vulnerability.

  • Ling (Late 20s): Asian female. Charismatic, precise, polished senior consultant type; requires authority, restraint, and controlled intensity.

Compensation

• Paid non-union roles (rate provided upon selection).
