A non-union docu-drama feature film, Vida Real, is seeking an actress to portray Carla, a pivotal supporting character in an urban story set in Chicago’s Little Village community. The film follows Eliseo Real, a father balancing the responsibilities of raising his daughter while pursuing his dream of opening a barbershop.
Carla is Eliseo’s partner, navigating the challenges of family life, financial pressures, and personal ambitions. The role requires emotional depth, authenticity, and the ability to portray a complex relationship dynamic.
Job Responsibilities
- Portray the character of Carla in the feature film.
- Participate in rehearsals and filming sessions as scheduled.
- Collaborate with the director and cast to develop authentic character relationships.
- Perform dramatic scenes with emotional realism.
- Be comfortable with scene improvisation when required.
Requirements
- Female, approximately in her 30s.
- Character is described as a Chicago Southsider raised by a Mexican/Filipino mother.
- Spanish-speaking ability or basic Spanish understanding preferred.
- Tagalog language skills are a plus but not required.
- Comfortable with improvisational acting.
- Strong dramatic acting skills and emotional range.
- Must submit a headshot and resume for consideration.
