Job Description
A paid web series titled Natives is seeking non-union actors for supporting roles in a character-driven drama set in New York City. The series follows a group of unapologetic, queer, native New Yorkers navigating adulthood and complex relationships. This project explores themes of identity, ambition, and personal struggle within the vibrant backdrop of NYC.
Job Responsibilities
- Portray emotionally layered characters in a scripted web series
- Deliver authentic, compelling performances that align with the tone of the project
- Collaborate with the director and cast to bring characters to life
- Participate in rehearsals and filming as required
- Accurately represent cultural, emotional, and narrative nuances of each role
Requirements
- Non-union actors only
- Must be locally based in New York, NY
- Strong acting skills with the ability to portray complex emotional depth
- Comfortable performing character-specific traits and identities as required
- Must provide headshot, acting reel, and full contact information
- Ability to follow submission instructions and provide availability
Roles Available
- Richard – White male, age 40–50, American accent; must authentically portray a gay character; a complex individual navigating loneliness and control within personal relationships
- Pamela – Black female, mid-50s; strong presence; preferably with an English or native Akan accent; a resilient and authoritative mother figure with emotional depth
Compensation
- $100 per day
- Roles require 1–2 days of filming depending on casting
- Paid opportunity under a micro-budget agreement
