Job Description
A short proof-of-concept film titled La Mala is hiring a Gaffer/Key Grip combo to oversee lighting and grip for a three-day shoot in Atlanta. Set during a high school Halloween party, this micro–low budget indie film calls for a skilled and resourceful crew member who can contribute creativity and professionalism to a fast-paced, small-crew set. This is a paid role for someone ready to lead technical execution with precision and adaptability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Handle both gaffer and key grip duties on set

  • Set up lighting and grip equipment efficiently and safely

  • Collaborate with the director and production team to execute the visual plan

  • Troubleshoot lighting and rigging challenges as needed

  • Work on all three scheduled shoot dates

Requirements

  • Experienced in both gaffer and key grip roles

  • Comfortable working on indie film sets with a lean crew

  • Must be available July 11–13 in Atlanta, GA (metro area)

  • Professional set experience required

  • Access to personal gear is a plus (please note in application)

Compensation

  • Paid position (rate based on experience and micro-budget availability)

  • Creative collaboration with an independent film team

  • Exposure through a proof-of-concept production under Silent K Productions
