Job Description
A casting opportunity is available for an actress to portray a powerful and complex character inspired by historical influences from the Bronx during the 2011–2015 Brujería gang era. Producers are seeking Indigenous-identifying talent, including mixed Indigenous performers, with preference given to Taino-identifying actresses, though all qualified candidates will be considered.
The role combines elements of a strong Indigenous female leader with the commanding presence of a notorious crime figure, creating a unique and compelling character for a dramatic project.
Job Responsibilities
- Portray a lead or featured character in a scripted production.
- Participate in rehearsals, auditions, and filming as required.
- Bring emotional depth, authenticity, and intensity to the role.
- Collaborate with the director and creative team to develop the character.
- Perform scenes consistent with the project’s dramatic and crime-related themes.
Requirements
- Indigenous-identifying actresses encouraged to apply.
- Mixed Indigenous performers are welcome.
- Taino heritage preferred but not required.
- Strong acting ability and on-camera presence.
- Ability to portray a complex and powerful character.
- Previous acting experience is preferred but not mandatory.
