Job Description:
A student filmmaker from Emerson College is casting for a heartfelt short film exploring identity, memory, and cultural reflection. The project is seeking Japanese or half-Japanese women aged 25–35 and 50+ for lead and supporting roles in a non-union production. The film centers on a Japanese graphic designer confronting her past after reconnecting with her teenage self during a New Year’s visit home.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Portray emotionally nuanced characters with depth and cultural authenticity

  • Participate in a fall shoot around the Boston area

  • Memorize lines and perform for camera in both present-day and flashback scenes

  • Collaborate with a diverse, student-led production crew

Requirements:

  • Must identify as Japanese or half-Japanese

  • Female, ages 25–35 and 50+

  • Must speak Japanese proficiently

  • Based in or able to travel to the Boston area (travel not compensated)

  • Non-union talent only

Compensation:

  • IMDB credit

  • Meals provided on set

  • Additional pay may be available based on fundraising outcomes
