Job Description
A musical theater production is now seeking passionate and creative crew members for an upcoming live stage performance. The team is looking for talented individuals to support multiple behind-the-scenes departments for a large-scale musical theater production.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with live theater production operations and backstage coordination
  • Support departments including dramaturgy, sound design, lighting design, and set construction
  • Collaborate with directors, performers, and fellow crew members during rehearsals and performances
  • Help build, organize, and maintain production materials and stage elements
  • Follow production schedules and assist with technical theater preparation

Musical Theater Casting Call

Job Description
A university musical theater production is now casting performers for an upcoming stage production inspired by the world of Alice by Heart. This exciting opportunity is ideal for actors, singers, and musical theater performers looking to showcase their vocal and acting talents in a creative live theater environment. Casting directors are seeking expressive performers for a variety of featured and ensemble-style roles in this emotionally driven production.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform in a live musical theater production
  • Participate in rehearsals, callbacks, and scheduled performances
  • Prepare and perform 32 bars of a musical theater or pop/rock song in the style of the production
  • Collaborate with directors, choreographers, and fellow cast members throughout rehearsals
  • Bring emotional depth, strong character work, and stage presence to performances

Requirements

  • Open to teen and adult performers of various genders and backgrounds
  • Strong singing and acting abilities preferred
  • Must prepare a 60–90 second vocal audition
  • Comfortable performing emotionally expressive and character-driven material
  • Ability to portray imaginative and theatrical characters in a live stage setting
  • Must be available for auditions, callbacks, and rehearsals as scheduled
  • Musical theater experience is a plus but not required

As the producer, you will work alongside the artistic director to serve as the face of SCAD with external elite and community clients. In this position, you will participate in community outreach and cold calling, negotiate rates with clients, communicate with necessary internal departments for events and feedback, and lead weekly meetings to discuss all upcoming events, logistics, performance outlines, and staffing. Performances will include paid performances, church performances, and goodwill community events. You will be responsible for distributing meeting minutes, tracking data in spreadsheets, organizing headshots, and accommodating dietary restrictions. The executive ensemble producer schedules performances and Zoom calls with the client to discuss event direction and logistics provides the information to the artistic director and handles all contracts/invoices.

As the producer, you will distribute PR materials to clients for promotional needs, send final notes for performance preparations, assist with styling, schedule fittings, and create and distribute call sheets. Responsibilities include distributing and paying invoices, scheduling rehearsals, establishing marketing plans, managing budgets, organizing meal and staffing plans, and scheduling hair and makeup. In this position, you must be present on-ground for each performance to manage all in-house logistics of events in coordination with the production team and stage manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to travel to all SCAD locations as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least five years of SCAD experience

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license

Travel required:

  • 10% to 20%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
