An MFA student short film titled Descent is casting two pivotal roles for a haunting psychological thriller about family secrets and emotional collapse. The film seeks experienced actors to portray deeply layered characters in a story that blends suspense, subtle horror, and profound emotional depth. Filming will take place just outside Philadelphia with travel costs reimbursed.

Job Responsibilities

• Bring complex emotional arcs to life in a psychological thriller

• Collaborate with the director and cast in an intimate, character-driven narrative

• Participate in a two-day shoot on location

• Contribute to the film’s atmosphere of mystery, grief, and tension

Requirements

• Seeking actors for two roles:

  • Mr. Wraith (Age 50–65): A mysterious, menacing figure with a hidden, grieving heart; must convey tension and vulnerability

  • Mrs. Wraith (Age 50–65): A nurturing maternal anchor, loyal and emotionally expressive, with strong subtlety and presence

• Open to both SAG-AFTRA and non-union talent

• Must be available for filming July 22–23

• Must be comfortable working in a horror/thriller genre

Compensation

• Unpaid

• Meals, credit, and a copy of the final film provided

• Full travel reimbursement to set

• Professional credit in a Columbia MFA thesis film
