Short Film Casting Call: “The Way the Light Changes”

Project Casting is seeking non-union actors for a paid, self-funded short film in North Florida (Taylor County/Big Bend area). This dramatic, metaphysical story is minimalist and intimate, focusing on memory, choice, identity, and emotional boundaries. Performances should feel grounded and precise—quiet intensity over big emotion, with strong listening and presence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform dialogue-driven scenes with subtlety and restraint

  • Collaborate with the director to achieve a minimalist, intimate tone

  • Communicate emotion through stillness, listening, and subtext

  • Stay consistent across takes with controlled, natural performance choices

  • Maintain professionalism on set during a micro-budget production

Requirements

  • Non-union talent

  • Ability to deliver grounded, natural performances with minimal exposition

  • Strong control over expressiveness (no melodrama or overplaying)

  • Comfortable with quiet scenes, subtext, and ethical/emotional conflict

  • Must be able to work as a local hire in North Florida (Taylor County/Big Bend area)

  • Roles available:

    • Daniel (Male, 40–55) — Lead

    • Evelyn (Female, 20–30) — Supporting Lead

    • Michael (Male, 20–30) — Supporting

Compensation

  • Paid roles (self-funded micro-budget)

  • Lead: $200 per day

  • Supporting: $150 per day
