Job Description
A short film titled New Growth is seeking young actors to portray middle-school–aged characters in a heartfelt story about friendship, betrayal, and self-acceptance. After her best friend abandons her on the first day of middle school, a Black girl discovers unexpected solidarity and strength in her identity. Filming is scheduled for Spring 2026.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform in emotionally grounded scenes centered on friendship dynamics

• Work collaboratively with fellow young actors and the directing team

• Bring authenticity, vulnerability, and personality to the role

• Participate in both dramatic and lighthearted moments that reflect middle school life

Requirements
Casting the following roles (ages 10–14):

• Trinity Turner – Overconfident on the surface but eager to fit in; teased for her 4c hair. Has box braids.

• Naomi Gomez – Afro-Latina, dweeby but more physically developed than Trinity; leaves Trinity for a popular clique.

• Ivy – Former nerd turned “it girl”; confident leader of the clique Naomi joins.

• Brooke – Age 12, but looks much younger; sweet, innocent, and judged for not acting “grown.”

• Extras (Ages 10–16) – Kids or teens who can pass for middle school students to fill hallways, classrooms, and school scenes.
