IndieWire is seeking an agile Manager, Marketing who will promote sales, live media, and editorial content.

The ideal candidate is a proactive learner with: (1) a grasp of basic storytelling principles and marketing strategies as well as (2) sense of the publishing, film and television landscapes. This role will report to the Director, Marketing.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Drive traffic to (and deepen engagement with) IndieWire’s evergreen, awards, and daily coverage
  • Help develop, execute and analyze editorial promotion plans that run across social, email, site, events, and more, connecting brand narrative on all touchpoints
  • Liaise with partners at guilds, festivals, and film & TV membership organizations to develop audiences and activate for clients
  • Draft marketing copy and curate images for social, email and more
  • Grow IndieWire’s industry and consumer audiences; maintain invitation list health for live and virtual events
  • Produce content for email, social, and more
  • Draft pitch decks, recap decks, and more for clients
  • Run brand tests, finding ways to hone and elevate the IndieWire brand
  • Distribute surveys to readers and live media attendees
  • Parse audience data for answers to stakeholder questions
  • Additional duties as assigned by the direct manager

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience in marketing, ideally in entertainment or publishing
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Willing to occasionally work outside normal office hours for live events (awards shows, film festivals, etc.) or breaking news
  • Strong ability to discern content reception
  • Understanding of project scope (how small details contribute to overall goals)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Understanding of the IndieWire brand

Typical wage range: $65k – $70k

Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits. Variety Magazine is seeking a Video Producer/Editor to work across various series and live events. This multifaceted video staffer will be creating and executing videos on tight turnarounds, shooting content in field in the US and abroad, as needed, and coordinating with team leads to facilitate shoots across different departments within the magazine.

This Producer/Editor should be comfortable working in an extremely fast-paced environment and be passionate about entertainment news. A comprehensive understanding of video content & social media strategies, and shooting original video, virtually or in our studios & on-site, will be needed for the day-to-day. In this role the Video Producer/Editor will help grow our video footprint in the digital space by quickly editing videos, creating and/or manipulating custom graphics, and packaging content into short form pieces. Fluency in social/video platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook are essential.

The ideal candidate must have entertainment news experience with a track record of shooting and editing original, high production value video. We aim to create content that engages our audience across our variety of brands and a multitude of platforms. This role reports to the Executive Producer of Editorial and is based in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities:

  • Shoot and edit video for the web – .com, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, etc.
  • Work with our video team and various brand leaders to fill the growing demand for video content surrounding events, award ceremonies, and more
  • Write, shoot and edit high quality video that suits the needs of the brand
  • Manage on-location shoots, sets, and crews in the US or abroad
  • Manage multiple productions and ensure on-time delivery
  • Record and edit weekly podcasts (video and audio).

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience working on a video team for online media
  • Experience with news content for video
  • Experience creating and managing the production of premium digital video
  • Background in and strong understanding of entertainment, news, fashion or similarly related digital consumer media
  • Traveling to location within the US or abroad and coordinating shoots
  • Thorough and current understanding of video distribution in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in core video social platforms; proficiency with YouTube’s CMS, best practices a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently across multiple events, platforms, and stakeholders
  • A track record of coming up with solutions for logistical challenges
  • Fluency with the Adobe Video Suite, Premiere is a must, Photoshop/Illustrator are a plus, After Effects is a big plus
  • Familiarity with Canon, Sony, Black Magic digital cinema, DSLR and mirrorless cameras

A celebration of all things television, ATX TV is hiring a Social Media & Design Manager. Reporting to the Director of Programming, the Social Media & Design Manager will help to create a cohesive ATX TV brand presence across social media platforms as well as provide newsletter strategy and implementation. This person will also oversee and implement design elements for year-round and festival needs (marketing decks, wrap-up reports, official festival signage and printed materials, digital graphics for promotion and engagement).

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage ATX TV’s social media accounts and drive growth strategies to increase followers, engagements and conversions
  • Collaborate with Director of Programming and the ATX TV staff to contribute ongoing social media ideas and strategy to the content and promotions calendar
  • Assist in developing brand voice and write ongoing social posts for ATX TV’s platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Source materials for posts and submit requests for branded graphics ensuring rigorous adherence to detail and brand standards
  • Route materials for approvals, implement feedback and adhere to deadlines
  • Reply to all inquiries posted or sent on social media, ensuring a high standard of customer service and timely, accurate responses
  • Develop and manage newsletter strategy, including but not limited to drafting copy, designing assets, scheduling campaigns, etc.
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns and continuously optimize
  • Collaborate with community partners, influencers and digital partners on social media promotions
  • Design Requirements:
  • Create easily adaptable design templates for social media campaigns, content releases, and event promotion using brand guidelines and assets provided by marketing team, and oversee implementation
  • Design and/or create digital assets for social media campaigns using brand assets, archival content, original content, and/or partner-provided assets, in accordance with brand standards
  • Collaborate with Operations team to design and update official event signage and print materials
  • Oversee and update designs for marketing decks, festival wrap up reports, and recap materials as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Festival Specific Responsibilities:

  • Foster a lively and engaging social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok throughout the event.
  • Engage with ATX TV’s online festival community, partners, and talent across platforms.
  • Manage and collaborate with the Volunteer Team to capture, create and share quick-turnaround content throughout all four days.
  • Develop a schedule/strategy for capturing content on-site with talent and attendees throughout the event.
  • Support the marketing team with daily copywriting and copy editing responsibilities.
  • Track metrics and campaigns throughout the event and produce a post-festival report on overall performance and engagement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have a genuine interest in TV and general knowledge of the current TV landscape.
  • 2+ years of experience managing social media professionally for a brand; past event experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrable results from past consumer facing social campaigns; experienced building a following
  • Highly creative with experience identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and convert
  • Proven ability and success managing and executing content strategies
  • Reliable and able to execute tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Strong written communications skills, attention to detail and ability to distill key messages in order to inform and persuade
  • A strong visual sensibility and experience following brand guidelines
  • Expertise across social platforms and experience using a social media management and intelligence tool
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in social media
  • Experience coordinating paid social posts a plus
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and Illustrator). Proficiency with Adobe Premiere a plus.
  • Must be comfortable approaching and interacting with general attendees, panelists, volunteers, etc in a fast-paced/high-energy environment.
