Job Description

A historical documentary is seeking an African American male actor for the role of Jacob in an upcoming non-speaking cinematic reenactment filming in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The project focuses on recreating true 18th-century stories that reflect resilience, love, and endurance through expressive, visual storytelling.

The ideal candidate will portray a character rooted in emotional strength and quiet dignity, conveying deep emotion through presence and movement rather than dialogue.


Job Responsibilities

  • Portray the character Jacob, an enslaved man and husband to Dinah, father to Bess.

  • Perform in a non-speaking reenactment, conveying emotion and story through body language and facial expression.

  • Participate in filming and take direction from the director and production team.

  • Maintain professionalism and emotional depth throughout the production.


Requirements

  • Ethnicity: Black / African American

  • Gender: Male

  • Age Range: Around 30

  • Character Traits: Physically frail or partially disabled, emotionally strong, gentle, deeply loyal, and expressive.

  • Location: Must be a local hire in Philadelphia, PA.

  • Union Status: Non-Union


Compensation

  • Rate: $300 per day
