Job Description
Netflix’s upcoming series Little House on the Prairie is casting the role of Governor Joe (Chief Joseph Pawnee-no-Pashe), a historical Osage Nation leader. This powerful role is based on a real-life figure who was educated in Western traditions but ultimately rejected them in favor of traditional Osage language, clothing, and beliefs. The series seeks an Indigenous male actor with strong presence and depth to bring this character to life. No previous acting experience is required.

Character Overview – Governor Joe (Chief Joseph Pawnee-no-Pashe)
A dignified and principled leader, Governor Joe is a man of cultural conviction. Educated at the Osage Mission, he is fluent in English and familiar with Western customs, but his heart remains deeply rooted in Osage traditions. He represents a generational struggle between assimilation and cultural preservation, and his character carries the wisdom and strength of someone who has chosen the latter path with clarity and pride.

Job Responsibilities

  • Portray Governor Joe with gravitas, depth, and emotional authenticity

  • Collaborate closely with directors to tell a meaningful, historically resonant story

  • Be available throughout the full filming schedule in Winnipeg

  • Participate in all production activities required for the role

Requirements

  • Indigenous Male of the Osage Nation

  • Age range: 40s–50s

  • Must be available from June to October 2025

  • Must be able to travel to and stay in Winnipeg, Canada (travel and accommodations provided)

  • No acting experience required

  • Must submit unfiltered, current solo photos (no hats, sunglasses, or group shots)

  • Provide your current location (city, state, reservation, or community)

Chinese/Cantonese Speaking Teen for Western Feature Film

A feature film set in the Western genre is seeking a Chinese or Cantonese-speaking teen for a principal role. This is a unique opportunity to join a professional film production and contribute to a culturally rich and visually compelling story. Open to New Mexico locals only.

Job Responsibilities

  • Portray a central character in a Western-themed production

  • Deliver lines in Chinese or Cantonese as required by the script

  • Participate in rehearsals and work collaboratively with cast and crew

  • Be available for full shoot days

Requirements

  • Age: 18 years old

  • Fluent in Chinese or Cantonese

  • Local to New Mexico

  • Comfortable performing on camera

Compensation
