Job Description

A theatre production is holding auditions for its 2026 production of A Christmas Carol. Actors of all experience levels are invited to audition for a wide range of principal, ensemble, child, and specialty roles in this beloved holiday classic. This annual production features memorable characters, traditional Christmas carols, and opportunities for performers with acting, singing, and movement abilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform as a principal, ensemble, child, or specialty character in the stage production.
• Attend rehearsals and scheduled performances.
• Follow direction from the creative and production teams.
• Collaborate with fellow cast members to bring the classic story to life.
• Participate in musical numbers and movement sequences where required.

Requirements

• Open to adult and child performers.
• Seeking performers for roles including Bob Cratchit, Mrs. Cratchit, Fred, Marley’s Ghost, Christmas Past, Christmas Present, Topper, Belle, Young Scrooge, Mr. Fezziwig, Dick Wilkins, Martha Cratchit, Peter Cratchit, Belinda Cratchit/Little Fan, Doug Cratchit/Boy Scrooge, Carol Cratchit, Tiny Tim/Ignorance, Ghost of Christmas Future/Town Crier, and additional ensemble roles.
• Some roles require singing ability.
• Comedic skills are preferred for select characters.
• Stage combat experience is a plus for certain roles.
• The Ghost of Christmas Future/Town Crier role requires a male performer 5’11” or taller who is comfortable wearing a heavy costume, walking in platform shoes, interacting with patrons, and assisting with backstage scene changes.
• Must be available for rehearsals and the full production schedule.

Compensation

• Performance compensation will be shared with selected performers.
• Principal, ensemble, child, and specialty roles are available.
