Job Description:
A short film titled Other Weekends is seeking talented actors for a powerful, emotionally driven story centered around family dynamics and personal struggles. The film follows a teenage boy navigating tension with his father after a pivotal basketball game, leading to a deeply emotional confrontation that reveals long-standing issues within the family.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Portray complex characters with emotional depth and authenticity
  • Participate in rehearsals and scheduled filming days
  • Collaborate with the director and cast to bring the story to life
  • Deliver strong, naturalistic performances in dramatic scenes

Requirements:

  • Marcus: Black male, age 15
    • Emotionally perceptive, withdrawn, struggles with anxiety and desire for paternal approval
  • Terrence: Black male, age 45
    • Charismatic, disciplined, authoritative; a basketball coach with a tough-love approach
  • Trey: Black male, age 15
    • Charismatic, witty, athletic; uses humor to mask deeper awareness
  • Vanessa: Black female, age 40
    • Grounded, perceptive, emotionally strong; the stabilizing force of the family
  • Must be 16+ to apply (with parental permission if under 18)
  • Prior acting experience preferred
  • Must submit headshot and demo reel

Compensation:
