Job Description
A short film titled Emma and Najma is seeking talented actresses for two leading roles in an upcoming production directed by a filmmaker completing an MFA in Screenwriting and Directing at Columbia University. The film will explore themes of friendship, romance, and personal discovery through the experiences of two young women navigating life in New York.
The story follows Emma and Najma, two French-Tunisian women living in New York who openly discuss love, relationships, and cultural identity in a city where they often feel misunderstood. When Najma finally meets Emma’s boyfriend after weeks of advising her on romance, the encounter becomes more emotionally complicated than expected.
Job Responsibilities

Portray one of the lead characters in the short film.

Deliver emotionally authentic performances that reflect the story’s themes of friendship, vulnerability, and identity.

Collaborate with the director and production team during rehearsals and filming.

Participate in scheduled auditions and production meetings if selected.

Maintain professionalism and cooperation with the cast and crew.

Najma

Additional Requirements

Must be fluent in French and English (some Arabic words may be used in dialogue).

Strong acting ability with emotional range.

Previous acting experience is preferred but not required.
