SHORT FILM Non-Union SAG-AFTRA Micro-Budget contract Casting Anna, a 10-minute FIT Senior Thesis Film — a narrative drama and intimate character study, shooting in Upstate New York. SYNOPSIS: Anna is a deeply personal film about memory, perception, and the fragile nature of human connection. The story follows an afternoon visit between a woman living in an elder care facility and her son. On this day they share a sense of clarity and connection. But in the final moments, she recounts the visit differently, remembering the warmth and kindness of the interaction, but not the man himself. This film is not about caregiving or decline. It is about a single, disorienting shift in perception, and how that shift quietly reframes everything that came before it. It asks: if memory shapes our understanding of relationships, what happens when that memory changes? Does love still exist if it is no longer recognized? ROLES: ANNA (PRINCIPAL)- CAST CAUCASIAN, 60-70’s, MAX’s MOTHER MAX (PRINCIPAL) CAUCASIAN, MID 40s, ANNA’S SON MAX is a devoted, attentive son in his mid 40s who visits his mother (ANNA) regularly at the elder care facility where she lives. He carries a sense of responsibility and care without drawing attention to it. He is almost selfless to a fault, putting the needs of others above his own without complaint or need for praise. Deep down he just wants to be loved and cared for in return. In this case, he misses his relationship with his mother and does everything he can to connect with her. The role requires a subtle, naturalistic performance- much of Max’s emotional life is internal, expressed through restraint, listening, and small shifts in behavior or expressions. He is very unsentimental on the surface. He's a confident, attractive guy who has a vibrant social life and career, yet he still shows up for her.
