A narrative short film is casting lead actors for a deeply emotional, character-driven project centered on memory, perception, and human connection. This intimate drama explores the evolving relationship between a mother and her son, highlighting themes of love, identity, and the fragility of memory. The production is seeking actors capable of delivering subtle, naturalistic performances with strong emotional depth.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray principal characters in a dramatic short film
• Deliver nuanced, emotionally grounded performances
• Collaborate closely with the director to achieve a naturalistic tone
• Participate fully in rehearsals and filming
• Convey complex emotional shifts through subtle expressions and behavior

Requirements

• Anna (Lead): Female, Caucasian, ages 60–70, portraying a mother in an elder care setting
• Max (Lead): Male, Caucasian, mid-40s, portraying Anna’s son
• Strong acting ability with a focus on subtle, internalized performance
• Ability to portray emotional depth and authentic human connection
• Comfortable working on an intimate, character-driven film
• Must be local to or able to work as a local hire in New Paltz, New York
• Must submit headshot, resume, and demo reel (if available)

Compensation

• $125 per day
• Meals and local travel included
• Opportunity to work on a meaningful, festival-style short film
