Job Description

An independent feature film production is seeking principal and background actors for the upcoming dark comedy film I Do Not Wish to Perform. Produced by a husband-and-wife filmmaking team, the project explores themes of grief, work, and depression through a character-driven narrative.

Casting directors are currently seeking SAG-AFTRA and non-union actors for multiple speaking and background roles. Filming will take place in the Pittsburgh area over a one-to-two-week production schedule.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform scripted scenes for a feature-length dark comedy film
  • Participate in rehearsals and on-set filming as scheduled
  • Collaborate professionally with directors and cast members
  • Follow production schedules and on-set instructions
  • Background actors will portray theater patrons and office workers

Requirements

Principal Roles Needed

  • Performer – Caucasian male, ages 30–40
  • Sasha (The Roommate) – Female, ages 25–35
  • Coworker 1 – Female, age 30+, preferably ages 40–50
  • Coworker 2 – Any gender/race, ages 20s–30s
  • Coworker 4 – Any gender/race, ages 20s–30s
  • Church Goer – Any age, gender, or race
  • Boss – Male, any race, age 35+
  • Better Off Friend 1 – Male, any race, ages 25–40
  • Better Off Friend 2 – Male, any race, ages 25–40

Additional Requirements

  • Open to SAG-AFTRA and non-union talent
  • Must have reliable transportation to filming locations
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Submit a recent photo along with audition inquiry
  • Indicate SAG-AFTRA status in submission email if applicable

Compensation Details

  • Day rates are negotiable
  • Lunch will be provided on shoot days
