Job Description

A Soft Place to Fall is now casting three lead actors for an emotionally driven short film. This character-focused drama explores faith, love, and emotional reckoning when the woman who once helped fracture a marriage becomes frail and dependent on care. A faithful wife must confront her deepest wound and ultimately decide whether love is something we feel—or something we choose.

This intimate story centers on layered performances, subtle emotional shifts, and internal conflict. Filming will take place in Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray a lead character in a dramatic short film

• Deliver nuanced, emotionally grounded performances

• Participate in rehearsals and filming as scheduled

• Submit required audition materials, including self-tape

• Collaborate in a creative, actor-supportive environment

Roles Available

Carol

• Lead, Female, 55–75

• Playing a complex 70-year-old woman defined by nostalgia, emotional guardedness, and a fading sense of control

• Requires strong ability to portray vulnerability, layered emotions, and shifting power dynamics

• Ethnicity: White / European Descent

Eddie

• Lead, Male, 35–55

• A 50-year-old Hispanic man burdened by guilt, duty, and emotional conflict

• Must portray restraint, moral struggle, quiet compassion, and internal tension

• Ethnicity: Latino / Hispanic

Lara

• Lead, Female, 30–45

• A 40-year-old Hispanic woman guided by faith and quiet strength

• Embodies compassion, forgiveness, emotional maturity, and spiritual conviction

• Ethnicity: Latino / Hispanic

Requirements

• Strong dramatic acting skills

• Headshot/photo and video reel required
