Partially Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teen Actor for ITV Drama

Job Description

A paid television drama is casting a partially deaf or hard of hearing teenage actor for a featured role in an upcoming ITV production. Casting directors are seeking a young male performer to portray Jake, a teenager adjusting to life with hearing aids while learning British Sign Language (BSL). This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring actors to gain experience in a professional television production, with no previous acting experience required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Portray the character of Jake in a television drama series
  • Perform scripted scenes and dialogue under the direction of the production team
  • Collaborate with fellow cast members and crew throughout filming
  • Participate in rehearsals and production activities as required
  • Help authentically represent the experiences of a partially deaf or hard of hearing teenager

Requirements

  • Male talent who is genuinely partially deaf or hard of hearing
  • Must appear between the ages of 15–16
  • Applicants may be 16–18 years old if they can convincingly portray a younger teen
  • Comfortable performing a London or South East England accent
  • Some experience with British Sign Language (BSL) is preferred but not required
  • No prior acting experience necessary
  • Must have parental or guardian consent if under 18
