Senior Product Manager – Product and Partner Development

We seek to offer customers an easy, exciting, and friendly ecommerce shopping experience, through the invention of personalized and localized digital experiences for our 34 million plus weekly customers. That includes partnering with the hundreds of Brands that sell products via our Site, App and Stores. That partnership includes a Retail Media offering that enables the Brands to execute Marketing and Branding campaigns that promote the sales and education of their Products. That Marketing happens on Albertsons Site, App and Stores, but it also happens via popular Media/AdTech partners like Pinterest, Meta, Google, Streaming TV services, and more.

The Product Manager provides oversight and alignment across the business, partner, and engineering teams. This leader is critical to governance pertaining to their Products within the Retail Media Network portfolio. The successful candidate will have led standardization of Agile processes, tools, and portfolio management methodologies and has demonstrated success in leading Agile teams and initiatives. This leadership candidate will have proven strengths in product management, business analytics, partner development, project management and collaboration.

This role will drive a Product Roadmap focused on modern Retail Media Products outside of Albertsons’ own properties. Retail Media is evolving quickly and requires deep partnerships with many Partners to shine. These partners are motivated to build with Albertsons but require a thought leader/partner that can carry a vision from design through delivery.

What you will be doing

This role is a highly collaborative and visible position that requires cross-group coordination and the ability to manage high volume, high impact work. The perfect candidate is strategic and has a bias for action; thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; and partners successfully with a wide group of Partners to build modern, Retail Media Products. This leader knows how to roll up their sleeves to design, test, and deliver new Products and features, with Partners, and in service of our customers.

  • Our customers include internal stakeholders and the Consumer Goods Brands that sell products at Albertsons. These customers invest Marketing budgets into our Products to achieve their goals.
  • Our Partners include major Ad Tech players like Google, Meta, Pinterest and Liveramp and several mid-sized players like Clinch, Citrus, and Fireworks.

This individual will work at a strategic level to inspire Partners to prioritize our ideas/needs. Using data, customer feedback, and finance partnerships, you will build a Roadmap and Vision that delivers on the larger Team’s goals. This role reports to the Director or VP of Product and Innovation.

The salary range is $118,100 to $165,340 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to lead a vision and create a strategy for Off Platform Products – I.e. New Social Media Channels/features that Albertsons Media Collective sells to Consumer-Packaged Goods companies.
  • Lead the ideation, research, design, development, test, and launch of data centric Products
  • Set quarterly Product Roadmap and goals and track to them
  • Support the Marketing, and Press Releases teams who will drive the official messaging used to promote our Products
  • Provide transparent communication with Partners and stakeholders via weekly or monthly statuses
  • Research changes in the industry and Partner product suite, with the purpose of finding opportunities for Albertsons to capitalize on the change
  • Drive the strategy, delivery schedule, and Agile ceremonies for assigned Products
  • Travel to relevant conferences, and Partner locations for training, white boarding, and strategy meetings
  • Inspect and address risk implications for new Product features
  • Monitor compliance with policies and track competitors’ solutions
  • Enable executive leaders to assess potential Product value/risks
  • Develop communication plan to drive decisions across the organization
  • Interface with engineers and executives to define opportunities and challenges and keep them up to date with project risks and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of building Products within the Retail Media or Marketing space
  • Bachelor’s degree in Comp Sci, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Deep knowledge of Retail, AdTech and/or Marketing tools
  • Experience with Agile development within a large Enterprise
  • Demonstrate accountability and build trust and collaborate with Partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to document and convert stakeholder problem statement into Product requirement document and work with stakeholders and PMO to prioritize
  • Engineering leadership or strong experience working with engineering teams
  • A technical appreciation of modern Ad Tech (DSPs, Ad Servers, Tagging, Measurement, etc.)
  • Experience with data analysis, metrics, and goal setting
  • Experience with Retail Media Networks or Agency/Brand Marketing a plus
  • Excellent written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on large scale Retail platforms
  • Experience with managing Marketing Channels or Retailer Operations – Ad agency experience a plus
  • Cross-functional program management/technical program management experience.
  • An understanding of Ad Tech and data driven Marketing programs.
  • Self-starter with strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Experience with DSP, Audience, Digital Identity, Auctions, Programmatic and online advertising industry
  • Demonstrate the ability to simplify complex business and technology topics
  • Passion for strategic thinking and problem solving, and ability to deliver rich, business insights
  • Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment and effectively triage several competing priorities

Albertsons is looking for a Senior Data Product Manager to build and oversee key capabilities for our cleanroom offerings. We are working on building out our cleanroom concept, and we are looking for a skilled Product Manager to lead the efforts and communicate with members of our various business pillars to help implement. This is a unique role at the intersection of data and technology.

This is a highly visible and high impact role with critical responsibilities that will shape the future of Data and its offerings to Albertsons business.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience building clean room from scratch based on the business objectives
  • Deep knowledge of data-driven mar-tech, ad-tech, programmatic, and media measurement
  • Worked on first , second and third party data and understand the relation between data sources
  • Drive key product initiatives for Albertson’s Clean room environment
  • Combine a unique blend of business and technical savvy, the ability to translate market requirements into a product vision, and be able to work side by side with engineering leadership to realize that vision
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business challenges related to the product offering.
  • Evangelize clean room product offering and be able to discuss with executives about its differentiated competencies, as well as to engineering and data management about feature and product capability requirements
  • Create, or assist with creation of product documentation, FAQs, best practices, and other knowledge base content
  • Hold user feedback sessions in the context of new product development activities across design, workflow, user experience, and pain-points/product friction.

The salary range is $131k-$185k annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

What you will be doing

Albertsons Media Collective is Albertsons’ (ACI) expansion into the Retail Media Sector. It offers all brands the opportunity to drive relevance through advertising programs that leverage the unique relationship we have with our customers and the first-party data that enables that relevance. These programs will be activated on both our owned platforms and other media platforms that are not owned by ACI. Our mission is to serve our customers advertising for those products and services they are interested in, while driving sales for our clients and profitable growth for Albertsons.

Orchestrating internal cross-team workflow communication to ensure documented campaign milestones and optimizations are completed within expected SLAs or sooner, as well as active problem solving throughout the campaign lifecycle. The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA or one of our main regional offices (Boise, Idaho; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Denver, CO; Dallas, TX; Chicago, IL; Fullerton, CA, or Phoenix, AZ).

Main responsibilities

  • Function as a central point of contact cross departments, owning status and next steps for each owned program with a level of customer service ensuring effective communication, timely responses to requests and proactive resolution of potential issues
  • Expert organizational skills, great attention to detail and ability to implement and meet deadlines and project manage multiple campaigns
  • Lead internal cross functional media meetings and ensure up to date maintenance of trackers
  • Own project management support during the campaign lifecycle to ensure on time completion of deliverables, coordinate across departments, identify potential risks and issues
  • Provide in flight omnichannel optimization recommendations on tactics/placements, targeting/segmentation and messaging to meet specific campaign objectives
  • Build strong ties across disciplines to produce successful campaigns, maintaining high levels of communication throughout campaign lifecycle and ensuring consistent high-quality deliverables across media planning & activation teams
  • Partner with analytics team to deliver insights & recommendations to tell a story rooted in data tied to the media activation
  • Maintain media planning and activation quality assurance processes, ensure that processes are being followed consistently, refined and changed based on learnings
  • Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to develop category and brand-specific campaign approaches that drive campaign objectives (ex. Playbook contribution x development)
  • Develop relationships with platform, activation, and agency stakeholders to evolve planning best practices based on new product updates & learnings

What we are searching for

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in digital omnichannel media planning and activation, including media platforms (DV360, Meta, Pinterest etc.), LiveRamp and/or relevant digital media tools.
  • Proven understanding of media backend (digital ecosystem, trafficking, attribution etc.) and application of that within the campaign lifecycle to inform cross functional next steps and ownership
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are particularly important in developing relationships and maintaining efficient communication across the team
  • Detail oriented and responsive, deadline-driven with strong quantitative reasoning skills

The salary range is $102,700 to $143,800. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
