Originator Studios is excited to announce a casting call for talented improv actors and comedy writers for our upcoming pilot episode of a modern sketch comedy show. This project aims to satirize today’s culture, technology, and the ironies of everyday life through sharp, witty sketches. We are looking to cast 5 actors and hire 2-4 writers who are passionate about comedy and can bring a unique perspective to our show.

Responsibilities:

For Actors:

• Participate in rehearsals and be available for all scheduled shoots.
• Collaborate with writers and directors to bring sketches to life.
• Contribute to the creative process with improvisational skills and comedic timing.

For Writers:

• Develop and write engaging, humorous sketches that reflect the show’s satirical tone.
• Work collaboratively with the creative team to refine scripts.
• Attend regular writing meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions.

Requirements:

• Must be local to the Austin area and available for writing meets, rehearsals, and shoots.
• Strong background in improv, stand-up comedy, or comedic writing.
• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
• Preferred age range: 30-50 years.
• No specific gender or ethnicity preferences.
• Must provide examples of improv, stand-up, or comedic writing.

Casting Call: Lead Role in TV Series

Job Description: We are excited to announce an open casting search for a lead role in an upcoming TV series. This is a unique opportunity for a young, talented actor who is eager to bring their unique perspective and skills to a prominent role in a high-profile project.

Responsibilities:

• Portray the lead character in the TV series, bringing depth, authenticity, and a strong presence to the role.
• Collaborate with the director, production team, and fellow cast members to create a compelling and engaging performance.
• Participate in rehearsals, script readings, and all scheduled filming sessions.
• Provide input and feedback on character development and script as appropriate.
• Promote the series through media interviews, promotional events, and social media engagement, as requested.

Requirements:

• Gender: Female.
• Age: 14—20 years old.
• Physical Characteristics: Lower limb difference or lower limb loss.
• Experience: All levels of acting experience are welcome. No prior acting experience is necessary, but a keen interest and enthusiasm for acting are essential.
• Availability: Must be available to shoot for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2024.
• Travel: Willing and able to travel to the UK and Italy for the duration of the shoot.

Compensation:

• Travel and accommodation expenses will be provided for the duration of the shoot in the UK and Italy.

This is a fantastic opportunity for young talents to participate in an engaging and dynamic project that caters to children and young adults.

Job Responsibilities: Selected candidates will be required to portray series regular roles in the BBC Studios’ TV Show. This involves bringing characters to life, delivering authentic lines, and contributing to the storyline. Child cast members will receive on-set tutoring during term times to ensure a balance between education and work commitments.

Requirements:

• Age: 12 to 19 years (or able to present within this age range)
• Location: Must be based in the West Midlands area
