The “Tuesday Tip” for actors: Building relationships. Everyone tells you that networking is vital to this business. Yes, it’s important, but also critical that it’s done in a professional manner. In the old days (pre-internet), sending a “touch base” postcard was considered the best way to stay in touch. And yes, we still receive a few postcards every week- and yes, we DO read them. But, today, email is the best way to keep a CD updated on your career. Keep it short, to the point, just let us know your latest project or accomplishment. Something like: “Hi, it’s Joe- just touching base. Most recently I can be seen on episode 5 of “The Blacklist” as the neighborhood thug, and I was called back for a nice role in the next Spielberg film.
