Acting requires actors to not only get into character but, sometimes change their voice to fit the person they are portraying. Many times actors hire dialect coaches to perfect their voice for a movie role.
Whether it be a southern twang like Brad Pitt’s role in Inglorious Bastards or Will Smith’s African dialect in Concussion, it takes a lot of careful thought, and concentration to make a voice come out correct, accurate and well-played.
Recently, Wired sat down with dialect coach Erik Singer and analyzes dome of Hollywood’s biggest actors and examined how accurate they really were.
