Reese Witherspoon is one of the most powerful and talented actresses in Hollywood. But, she is not stopping there. In an industry dominated by men, Witherspoon was looking to change the film industry.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Witherspoon told reporters, “So often I’m the only woman on a set full of men.” Consequently, she was interested in creating a project for more women.
Witherspoon’s new TV series Big Little Lies is a seven-part series on HBO, which was produced by Witherspoon’s production company Pacific Standard based on the Liane Moriarty’s female-driven novel.
Witherspoon decided to cast a group of “really interesting” women she had always love to work with. As a result, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz star alongside Witherspoon, which centers around domestic violence, marriage and motherhood.
“Getting to work with them every day was a pleasure,” she says. “I learned so much from each of them.”
