Producers are struggling to find crew members to work on Britain’s growing film industry.
According to the Yorkshire Post, the Production Guild of Great Britain is looking for people to become assistant production accountants on several major motion pictures filming in the UK.
The film industry group is trying to provide training to people working with numbers in other industries and ultimately transfer their skills to the movie business.
The Production Guild of Great Britain has designed a 10-month program that will provide placement in film and TV dramas, a tax-free training allowance of more than $500 a week and travel costs.
Recent trainees who have graduated from the program have worked on some of the biggest movies in recent history including, Star Wars: Episode VIII, The BFG, Assassin’s Creed, Mr. Selfridge and Brdiget Jones’s Baby.
Alison Small, chief executive of the Production Guild, said: “The training scheme provides practical training for people wanting to work on film productions. Over the past eleven years we have successfully attracted qualified people from other industries to transfer and augment their skills and build careers working in UK film and television.”
