5 Easy Ways Actors Can Easily Become Working Actors

Every actor should act like a professional. The term to fake it before you make it is crucial in Hollywood, and actors should treat every position from background acting to a lead role like a professional actor.

For instance, Jennifer Lawrence was never involved with theater and did not take acting classes, stating, “I’ve always studied people and been fascinated by their reactions and feelings. And I think that’s the best acting class you can take – watching real people, listening to them and studying them.”

But, here is a 5 ways to become a better actor without acting classes.

Here are 5 ways a professional actor treats acting.

1. A professional actor is constantly looking for their next audition.

3. Actors know how to act and how to take direction from the director, casting director or producer.

4. A professional actor is constantly building their fan base on social media via YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Vine.

An unprofessional actor is an actor that sits and waits for the agent to find them work and then complains that they are not landing an auditions. An unprofessional actor does not have Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube or Vine. In fact, according to major casting directors, the actors with hundreds of social media followers are more likely to book a role than a talented actor without a social media following. You do not want to have your agent working on your next major audition to star alongside Jennifer Lawrence and you are on vacation.

However, it is important that actor’s only contact their agent for legitimate reasons. Think of your agent as your foot into the industry but not your therapist, psychologist, mother, father, or personal psychic. If you hear of an audition for a part that you could play, then it’s a good idea to call your agent. However, if you are locked up in prison for robbery, it may not be a good idea to call your talent agent for legal advice.
