HBO’s ‘True Detective’ in discussion with Vince Vaughn to star on season 2 of the hit drama series.
HBO’s ‘True Detective‘ Season 2 speculation factory has produced another rumor.
According to TVLine, ‘Internship‘ actor Vince Vaughn is in talks to play one of the three leads in the HBO drama.
TVLine has learned exclusively that the Swingers actor is in preliminary talks to play one of the three leads in the HBO drama’s upcoming second season.
However, it is important to note that this is just a rumor. Keep in mind it was reported that Colin Farrell would star in the season 2 of HBO’s True Detective. But, it was also reported that the series will feature four lead characters instead of two and everyone in Hollywood is reaching for a chance to be a part of the series. Despite arguing that he will only do one season, Matthew McConaughey even said that he was interested in joining the cast in Season 2 of HBO’s ‘True Detective‘.
At the TCA press tour last month, HBO president Michael Lombardo said the cast of HBO’s True Detective Season 2 would be announced shortly. Lombardo also pointed out that “[T]he two scripts we have are…more exciting than the first season.”
If Vince Vaughn did agree to take the lead role in HBO’s ‘True Detective‘, then he may do a good job. In 1998, Vaughn played the dark and psychotic Norman Bates in the ‘Psycho’ reboot and it was a great performance. Maybe he can pull it off again.
