Vanessa Williams opens up about being sexually molested by woman as a child.
She said “it awakens your sexuality at an age where it shouldn’t be awakened”.
The former Miss America pageant winner admitted she became promiscuous and ‘curious’ after the encounter with the older woman. Williams said that when she was 10 years old she was molested by an older woman.
The actress and former Miss America talked about the vacation with a friend’s family that she says introduced her to sexual curiosity at a very early age.
“We ended up staying with a family friend of theirs. They had an older daughter,” she said, in an interview with “Oprah’s Master Class” that aired Tuesday.
“(She) was one of the cool girls. … She made you want to feel like you were a grown-up.”
“She told me to lie down on the floor,” Williams said. “She took my bottoms off and she said, ‘Be quiet.’ … She went down on me.”
“I had no idea what it was, but I knew it felt good,” Williams said. “I knew it felt good, but (was) also something that was not supposed to be happening. [via]
Vanessa Williams opened up that she wanted to tell her parents about it but never got the chance. She came home from the vacation to learn that there had been a death in the family.
“Had that not happened in my life and had I had an opportunity to have a normal courtship with a boyfriend at 16 or whatever. … There wouldn’t have been that shame that was always haunting me. It made me more sexually promiscuous and more sexually curious at a younger age than I should have been.”
