Original Post-April 5, 2020: Netflix is reportedly filming new episodes of ‘Tiger King‘
On Saturday, news broke that the popular Netflix documentary series ‘Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness’ will add a new episode.
Justin Turner, from the Los Angeles Dodgers, tweeted the big news with a video featuring one of the show’s characters, Jeff Lowe.
According to the New York Post, Lowe and Turner connected after the LA Dodgers baseball star mentioned the show on his wife Kourtney Turner’s podcast ‘Holding Kourt’.
“Hey Kourtney and Justin, this is Jeff and Lauren from the ‘Tiger King’ show on Netflix. Thanks for watching our show,” Lowe said in the video.
“Netflix is adding one more episode. It will be on next week. We’re filming here tomorrow.”
Lowe ends the video with some tips on how to protect yourself during the Coronavirus pandemic – “stay safe, and put your mask on.”
The docuseries became a hit since debuting on March 20. The documentary centers around a tiger zoo owner named Joseph Maldonado-Passage, also known as “Joe Exotic”, and his role in a muder-for-hire attempt to kill activist Carole Baskin.
Joe Exotic is serving a 22-year prison sentence for his vengeful plot. He was recently transferred to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, after Coronavirus COVID-19 was found in his previous jail.
