Netflix’s Ozark will start filming in Atlanta this December.
According to reports, the series will officially return for its final season in Atlanta, Georgia this December.
“Blue Cat Productions, LLC will be filming on Thursday, December 10 (from 8:00pm to 2:00am) at Brickworks Atlanta, 1000 Marietta St. NW, Atlanta, HA 30318. Crew will prep the area on Dec. 8 and Dec. 9 and will strike all materials on December 11,” the notice to neighbors states.
Ozark has filmed in Georgia since the first season. Production on the show’s third season took place throughout Georgia during Summer 2019.
Bateman previously explained the COVID-19 risks with production and how fickle the situation can be, especially considering how the Coronavirus is spreading across the country. Due to the precautions, Bateman says he will not be directing any episodes of the final season since it would require him to interact with too many members of the crew. Also, if he or any of the actors were to get sick, they would have to shut down production.
Season 4 will feature two separate seven-episode runs, for a total of 14, and “mark the final chapter in the Byrde family’s journey from suburban Chicago life to their criminal enterprise in the Ozarks,” according to Netflix.
“We’re so happy Netflix recognized the importance of giving ‘Ozark’ more time to end the Byrdes’ saga right,” ‘Ozark’ Chris Mundy said in a statement. “It’s been such a great adventure for all of us — both on screen and off — so we’re thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible.”
“A super sized season means super sized problems for the Byrdes,” Jason Bateman said. “I’m excited to end with a bang(s).”
In related news, there are 34 TV shows and movies now filming in Georgia this December 2020. Some of the biggest productions including Spider-Man 3.
