Yet, another background extra was upgraded to a speaking role on the set of Stephen King's Mr. Mercedes.
Tona B. Dahlquist Casting, the extras casting company behind AT&T's Mr. Mercedes Season 3, revealed on Facebook that a background actor was upgraded to a speaking role this week.
“EXCITING NEWS…..Another Mr. Mercedes Extra was upgraded to speaking role today! Congrats Taylor!”
Mr. Mercedes season 3 is now filming in Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Mercedes, based on Stephen King's 2014 book of the same name, follows a demented killer who taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again.
This is not the first time a background actor as upgraded to a speaking role. Recently, on the set of Kevin Hart's new movie Night School, a background actor was also upgraded to a principal speaking role. Tyler Perry also has a history of upgrading background extras to speaking roles.
