Here’s How Much Jimmy Kimmel Getting Paid to Host the Oscars

Date:

Jimmy Kimmel says he’s getting paid $15,000 to host the Emmys.

Jimmy Kimmel is not pulling any punches. In an interview on Wednesday with KROQ’s The Kevin & Bean Show, Jimmy Kimmel said he we will be paid $15,000 to host the Oscars.

While the figure may seem pretty low for some, Kimmel explained the only reason why he was getting paid at all was because “I think it’s illegal to pay nothing.”

When asked if the previous hosts such as Chris Rock were paid more, Jimmy Kimmel explained, “That’s what they told me,” but he has no way to prove it. “I’m not sure I was supposed to reveal this,” he joked, “but nobody told me not to. I consider this their fault.”

Jimmy Kimmel was picked to host the awards show earlier this year. He was officially announced on December 5th. “They asked like 14 people and they all said no and then there was me,” he joked about the late invitation. “I absolutely was surprised.”
