‘The Departed’ TV Series Coming Soon

The Departed TV series based around the Oscar winning movie is currently in development at Amazon.

According to Deadline, the Oscar winning 2006 Martin Scorsese movie is getting a TV series reboot. The hit 2006 movie featured Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg and was a hit in the box office earning $290 million on a $90 million budget.

The new TV series will be written by Detroit 1-8-7 creator Jason Richman, and will be an updated version of the Scorsese movie. The new TV series will be set at present-day Chicago, in the middle of a bitter drug gang war. According to Deadline, “a young cop goes undercover to infiltrate a ruthless Latino gang, which simultaneously plants its own man in the police department. The show follows these two embattled moles as they attempt to fulfill their mission and stay alive.”
