Jimmy Fallon started the Tonight Show with a strong start last week.
Fallon’s version of the Tonight Show averaged about 8.8 million viewers, despite the NBC’s Sochi Olympic Coverage.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the series brings in about 8.5 million viweres. That is more is more than the prior season-to-date average.
The key demographic that many television company’s fight for, ages 18-49, received a 2.8 average rating. But, Fallon had a wide range of guests that helped bolster views including Justin Timberlake’s appearance on Friday.
In comparison to Jay Leno, Fallon’s Tonight was the highest rated show since Leno’s 1992 debut.
