Get Ready for Tron: Ares

After a long hiatus, Tron is making a thrilling comeback with Tron: Ares. With an all-star cast including Jeff Bridges, Jared Leto, and Gillian Anderson, buzz about the upcoming installment in the Tron franchise is growing.

Meet the Cast

The return of Jeff Bridges to the franchise has left dedicated fans thrilled. His role in the film remains under wraps, allowing fans to speculate if he will reprise his original role as Kevin Flynn or introduce a new character.

Jared Leto, famously known for his role in Blade Runner: 2049, will play the title character of Ares, an AI being stepping into the reality of the human world for the first time.

Gillian Anderson, another high-profile name on the cast list, will have an undisclosed role in Tron: Ares. Joining them are others like Sarah Desjardins, Evan Peters, Cameron Monaghan, Greta Lee, and Jodie Turner-Smith.

Behind the Making of Tron: Ares

The road to Tron: Ares is paved with bumps. The movie took a long while to materialize due to various reasons.

Following the release of Tron: Legacy in 2010, work began almost immediately on a sequel with several cast members set to return. By March 2015, a sequel was officially announced. However, this was short-lived, as the sequel was canceled in May the same year due to the underperformance of Tomorrowland.

Disney, the studio behind Tron, chose to focus on their more considerable investments in Marvel and Lucasfilm, assuming they were more profitable and less risky. Thus, the Tron sequel officially died. Instead, a reboot of the franchise was decided, telling an all-new story set in the Tron universe.

However, the reboot also faced delays due to actor and writer strikes before it started production on January 1, 2024.

The Plot: A Fresh Take

What sets Tron: Ares apart from its predecessors is its unique storyline. This time, instead of a human character being pulled into the virtual world, an AI from the virtual world will enter the human realm. This film is poised to explore the implications of AI in our lives, something the Tron franchise has previously reflected in its narrative.

Tron: Ares is slated for a release on October 10, 2025.

In conclusion, Tron: Ares is set to offer fans a fresh narrative journey with characters both old and new. Although a long time coming, this next iteration of the Tron franchise promises a lot of excitement and leaves fans eagerly waiting for its premiere.
