Brett Goldstein, who plays the fan-favorite Roy Kent and is also a writer on the program, stated to Sunday Times that they will carry out their initial plan of ending it with the upcoming season. “We are writing it like that,” he revealed about their plans to end with season three. “It was planned as three. Spoiler alert — everyone dies.”
Following the second season premiere in July 2021, Brendan Hunt, who co-created the show and plays Coach Beard, told ComicBook that their plans to conclude with season three might be altered based on audience reaction. “We’ve always seen it as a three-season situation. We still have a three-season story arc in mind, but the thing we weren’t prepared for when we were thinking three seasons, was the degree to which people would take to the show,” he explained. “So, perhaps that intention will be challenged a little bit, but that’s where our head is at right now.”
Filming for season three has already begun, so keep an eye out for a trailer and a premiere date.
