Acting credits tend to dwindle after Bond, perhaps because financial security frees actors to take fewer roles; Bond-related fame and advancing age limit their other options; or celebrity, protracted productions and the need to recover from the beatings they take sidetrack their careers.
It’s important to point out that many actors who have starred as James Bond all complained about the acting job. Actors unable to work on other projects and are typically type cast as action heroes. For example, Daniel Craig’s only other production, outside of his small role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was a limited-run Broadway show called Betrayal.
According to rumors and speculation, Tom Hiddleston is expected to become the next James Bond. Hiddleston is quickly becoming one of the most popular actors in Hollywood with several big movies and a major role in the Marvel series. In fact, his recent made for TV movie, The Night Manager, pretty much establishes that he has the acting chops to play a secret agent. Hopefully, playing James Bond won’t ruin his acting career.
