The Gwinnett Place Mall in Duluth, Georgia, which was the filming location for ‘Stranger Things 3’s Starcourt Mall, is going for sale.
The owners of the mall have partnered with Colliers International Atlanta to put the mall up for sale after several incidences at the shopping location. One such incident includes the decomposed body of a woman found in 2017 at the back of an abandoned Subway. The body went unnoticed for two weeks and was discovered after a routine check by a maintenance worker.
“You’d be shocked at the number of malls, particularly derelict malls, in the area,” Stranger Things production designer Chris Trujillo told the Los Angeles Times about finding the filming location to turn into Starcourt.
Gwinnett Place’s food court was used for much of Season 3. According to CNN, the people who live near the mall in the suburbs of Atlanta have been wanting the owners of the mall to sell the property for several years.
