“Stranger Things” actor Finn Wolfhard might be the star of the newest “Ghostbusters” movie.
According to reports, the two are currently in talks to play the lead role in the upcoming film.
Jason Reitman is the son of the original “Ghostbusters” director and is taking over his father’s role for the upcoming sequel. Production is scheduled to begin this summer for a 2020 release. Jason revealed the movie “is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot.” Other news about the movie’s plot or any returning cast members is yet to be confirmed.
This news comes after Leslie Jones bashed the upcoming “Ghostbusters” movie. Leslie Jones took to Twitter to express her disappointment with the upcoming Ghostbusters movie. Jones was upset the upcoming film will not be connected to the 2016 film.
She wrote: “So insulting. Like f*** us. We didn’t count. It’s like something Trump would do. (Trump voice) “Gonna redo ‘Ghostbusters’, better with men, will be huge. Those women ain’t ghostbusters ugh so annoying.”
“Such a d*** move. And I don’t give f*** I’m saying something,” added Jones.
The upcoming “Ghostbusters” movie is set to hit theaters on July 10, 2020.
