Star Wars: Episode VII cast Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie
It has just been officially announced that Star Wars: Episode VII has cast the Academy Award winning actress Lupita Nyong’o from 12 Years a Slave, and Game of Thrones, Gwendoline Christie.
Starwars.com has just officially announced that two of America’s favorite actresses will be joining the already amazing cast fo Star Wars: Episode VII
Lupita Nyong’o joins the recently announced cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. This year, her breakthrough performance in 12 Years a Slave earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Gwendoline Christie, currently starring in the hit television series Game of Thrones as Brienne of Tarth, has also been cast in the production. She can next be seen in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.
“I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII,” says Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. “It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”
Lupita Nyong’o worked as a production assistant on several Hollywood films. Nyong’o later completed a master’s degree in acting from the Yale School of Drama, followed by her first feature film role in Steve McQueen‘s historical drama 12 Years a Slave (2013).
Gwendoline Christie is a British actress. She is best known for portraying the warrior Brienne of Tarth in the HBO series Game of Thrones. She will portray Commander Lyme in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015).
Reports as to what roles these two actors will be playing have not been released.
