Diego Luna appears in Disney+’s official trailer for Andor, which has now been released. This time we get to see quite a bit of him.
In contrast to the streamer’s previous teaser trailer, Cassian Andor, a scrappy underdog rebel from Luna’s series, receives significant screen time in this new look at the action-packed Star Wars saga (below). The cast includes Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Fiona Shaw.
The teaser also backs up prior reports that an unknown actor will take over the role of Saw Gerrera, a rebel fighter from Rogue One.
The series is billed as “a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy,” focusing on “Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception, and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.”
In a pleasant change of pace from the company’s prior Star Wars programs, Andor appears to have primarily abandoned sandy planet settings in favor of various urban and rural characters. The 12-episode series will debut with a three-episode premiere on September 21st, according to Disney+.
The series was created by and stars Diego Luna. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna, and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is also the showrunner.
