Sony Hackers threaten to go 9/11 on movie theaters that show the Interview movie.
The Sony Hackers, known as Guardians of Peace, have threatened real-life violence against movie theaters that decide to show the upcoming Seth Rogen/James Franco comedy, The Interview.
The Hackers who stole hundreds if not thousands of private files from Sony Pictures Entertainment, have escalated their threats from releasing private information to hurting innocent people.
“The world will be full of fear. Remember the 11th of September, 2001. We recommend you to keep yourself distant from the places at that time. (If your house is nearby, you’d better leave.)” the hackers said in a Tuesday morning leak of Sony files that they’re calling “a Christmas gift.”
Variety reports that the new set of files that were released today and were named after Sony Pictures CEO Michael Lynton. If the hackers’ past releases mean anything, this new set of files is likely a collection of private emails.
The hackers have already followed through on their original threat by leaking tons of sensitive Sony files including a clip of the Kim Jong-Un death scene from The Interview.
The Interview opens on Christmas Day, and the hackers specifically mentioned that they plan on targeting the movie’s premiere.
“Whatever comes in the coming days is called by the greed of Sony Pictures Entertainment,” they wrote, “All the world will denounce the SONY.”
