A live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movie is going to film in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to reports, Paramount has picked up a Sonic The Hedgehog live-action movie in October and is planning to film in Georgia this summer in Atlanta, Georgia.
Director Jeff Fowler is aiming to get Sonic in preproduction starting in July and will shoot over the next few months in Georgia. Fowler is part of the team over at Tim Miller’s Blur Studio and his short-film Gopher Broke (made at Blur) ended up getting Oscar-nominated. Blur is expected to handle the animation on the film. Tim will produce the project along with Neal H. Mortiz.
Miller and Fowler have been trying to put together an animated movie based on the Dark Horse Comics series The Goon for years at Blur with Ron Perlman and Paul Giamatti attached to voice the main characters, which might be getting an update in the very near future.
The film will be written by Josh Miller and Patrick Casey.
Paramount recently gave Sonic a release date of November 15th, 2019.
