The announcement for the cast of The Lion King live-action feature film shocked fans, especially once they discovered Beyonce would be the voice of Nala in the movie. The rest of the cast includes Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, and legendary actor James Earl Jones. But, SNL had a hilarious sketch, which imagined some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities auditioning for a role in the movie. The sketches included an impression of Cardi B, John Oliver, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Those sketchers area always a lot of fun for the impressions that the cast brings to life.
The SNL episode featured Tiffany Haddish as the host of the episode. She opened up the show with an energetic monologue hitting on everything from working with Kevin Hart to the sexual assault allegations in Hollywood.
She took a moment to address the rampant sexual harassment allegations int he news, offering a helpful “Tiff Tip.”
“If you got your thing-thing out and she’s got all her clothes on, you’re wrong.”
Haddish is the first black female comedian to host the show in 43-year history and only the 12th black woman to host. The only other African-American women to host SNL include Octavia Spencer, Kerry Washington, Taraji P. Henson, Gabourey Sidibe, Rosario Dawson, Janet Jackson, Queen Latifah, Halle Berry, Cicely Tyson, Maya Rudolph and Oprah Winfrey.
