Robert Downey Jr. Walks Out of Interview After Journalist Asks Personal Questions [VIDEO]

Date:

Robert Downey Jr. walks out of an Interview after the journalist started asking personal questions.

Robert Downey Jr. sat down with the U.K.’s CHannel 4 News but, the interview ended quickly when the actor was asked about his past.

From Variety:

Journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy tweeted the video of his “Avengers: Age of Ultron” promotional interview with Downey Jr., captioning it, “A steely moment from Ironman.” In the video, Downey Jr. appears rather irritable from the start, but the interview really starts to go south when Guru-Murthy asks him to explain the following quote from a 2008 article in the New York Times: “You can’t go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to a penitentiary and really understand it and come out a liberal,” Downey Jr. said.

When pressed on the subject of his past, the actor says, “Uh, are we promoting a movie?” As the interviewer attempts to justify his questions, Downey Jr. says, “I’m sorry, I, I really don’t — what are we doing? Bye.”

This interview begs the question, aren’t reporters prepared with a list of things the actor will and will not discuss? You could see Robert Downey Jr.’s breathing change showing he was not comfortable with this, and I would bet that the reporters were told specifically not to bring this personal stuff up. However, not all actors are like Robert Downey Jr., and refuse to talk about their past. Vin Diesel loves to bring up personal moments he shared with Paul Walker. So, I guess he watched one too many Vin Diesel interviews.
