Hollywood veterans Regé-Jean Page, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin Willmott are teaming up to bring the legendary story of Muhammad Ali to life in an upcoming Peacock series.
Peacock is thrilled to collaborate with Regé-Jean Page, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin Willmott on an intriguing series that spotlights the iconic figure Muhammad Ali.
Reportedly titled Excellence: 8 Fights, the television series is set to be composed of eight parts and will draw its source material from Jonathan Eig’s renowned publication, Ali: A Life. This officially acclaimed show is touted as one that will“chronicle eight distinct and defining moments in the iconic life of Muhammad Ali. Each episode will be framed by one fight from Ali’s life. Still, the essence of the episode, what it’s really about, is the internal fight – the drama outside the ring – where we will explore the struggle going on in the heart and mind of one of the most influential and controversial figures of the 20th century.”
Page, Freeman, Willmott, Lori McCreary, and Emily Brown will lead the production team while Eig is the producer. Acclaimed writer/director Willmott, renowned for his contributions to BlacKkKlansman and Da 5 Bloods, will compose the script.
Be sure to watch for more updates – they’re coming soon!
